The establishment of Nam Can Industrial Park, as part of the Nam Can Economic Zone project, is primarily supported by Ca Mau Shipbuilding Industrial Joint Stock Company (VINASHIN) as the main investor.

Nam Can Economic Zone aims to utilize its natural advantages, strategic trade location, and political-economic significance to promote the socio-economic development of Ca Mau Province and the Mekong Delta region, narrowing the regional gap with other areas of Vietnam.

II. Infrastructure of Nam Can Industrial Park:

The industrial park is equipped with modern and convenient infrastructure, providing a full range of high-quality services:

Transportation System:

Nam Can Industrial Park (including Nam Can Economic Zone) is strategically located along National Highway 1A, connecting to international and national economic regions. It is near the maritime route about the ASEAN region and the expanded Mekong sub-region, with convenient land access to Phnom Penh (approximately 500 km) and proximity to Singapore (around 450 nautical miles). The park is well-connected to urban centers in Southeast Asia within 1 to 2 hours of flying time.

Situated in the Mekong Delta region and within reach of Ho Chi Minh City, Nam Can Industrial Park is located 400 km from Ho Chi Minh City, 220 km from Can Tho City, and 100 nautical miles from Phu Quoc and Con Dao islands.

The industrial park is situated within Ca Mau Province, with distances of 53 km from Ca Mau City via National Highway 1A, 60 km from Song Doc Town, and 30 km from the infrastructure road to Hon Khoai, a notable national landmark. It is approximately 60 km from the city center of Ca Mau and 62 km from Ca Mau Airport, which is undergoing development to become an international airport. The park is also adjacent to the Ramsar World Biosphere Reserve – Ca Mau Cape.

Electricity System:

  • Managed and supplied by Ca Mau Power Company.
  • The 100/22kV distribution station is located within the Industrial Park.

Water System:

  • Managed and supplied by Ca Mau Water Supply Joint Stock Company.
  • They have constructed four water treatment plants with a total capacity of 24,800 m3/day and night to supply water to the Industrial Park.

Stormwater Drainage System:

Newly constructed separately from the wastewater drainage system.

Wastewater Treatment System:

They have built four wastewater treatment stations with a total capacity of 19,300 m3/day and night to serve the entire park.

Communication System:

Managed and provided by Ca Mau Provincial Telecommunication. Utilizing the services of Lisealine, ADSL, and fiber optic cables.

Năm Căn Economic Zone is a comprehensive and multi-sector economic zone, including a non-tariff zone (industrial – commercial – service) and a tariff zone (urban, high-tech aquaculture, eco-tourism, and logistics centers for the region).
